Description: The Northern Lights - Aurora Borealis - is the most beautiful colour spectacle of the nature. In the night sky of the Arctic regions this brilliant light phenomenon will never leave you cold. The video show by our expert Northern Lights guide, space physicist Dr. Esa Turunen, will lead you through ancient beliefs and myths to the latest scientific truth. You will also be able to listen to real radio signals from the space, at the same time as you enjoy the Nature's most magnificent light show. A review of weather and space weather conditions, ie. relevant forecast of seeing the aurora for the coming 1-3 nights is given in the end of the show.

We offer the Northern Lights programmes at the LUOSTO SKI CENTRE and at various other locations in Finnish Lapland at request. Our expert lecturer is available on request for example at the hotel of the customers for convenience. At Luosto Ski Center, we operate together mainly with Lapland Safaris and Lapland Hotels Luostotunturi.

Luosto Ski Center is a perfect location for Northern Lights watching. Arctic Academy has operated in this region since 1994, in collaboration with other program service companies. Our programmes are developed by a professional space physicist, Dr. Esa Turunen (Adj. Prof of Aeronomy, University of Oulu/ and Director Emeritus, Sodankylä Geophysical Observatory). After 45 years science career in the service of University of Oulu, he is now retired from his daily work as the Director of Sodankylä Geophysical Observatory and is acting as the expert Aurora guide of Arctic Academy.

To match the needs and wishes of your group, our Northern Lights Programmes can be arranged at several key locations in Lapland and in multiple languages.
