Where to go at Luosto in order to see the Northern Lights?
Number 1 location is the Ukko-Luosto Scenic hut, just above the tree line, with open view to all directions and a warm place inside for waiting. Naturally, you want to be outside when the Aurora appears. Just open the door and you are there, at the best spot.
Best spot for Aurora enthusiasts at Luosto
Pack your backpack with warm clothes, since walking up takes some effort. It is better not to have too much on while walking uphill. The path up to the Ukko-Luosto scenic hut is steep, but luckily it is only 2 km to go. And you can dress warmly inside in the cosy, electrically heated cabin, which is open and free to access. The hut is located inside the National Park area, so please, take care to protect the nature and bring back down whatever you bring up with you.
